The bakes that came with us from ThoroughBread, the original Austin bakery — the famous cookies first among them. They are enormous, over a third of a pound each, crisp at the edge and gooey in the middle, made with organic sugar, organic flour and not much else. The shelf runs wider than cookies alone: scones, croissants and boules from the same ovens sit alongside them, because they come out of the same morning bake.
